“Air conditioning” isn’t just about keeping you cool. Especially in the summertime in Southwest Florida, when we’re all spending a lot of time indoors, properly conditioned air is as much about what you’re breathing as it is about temperature. That’s why we want to make sure that your AC system churns out air that’s as clean as it is cool.
We achieve the highest possible indoor air quality using a comprehensive set of tools and techniques.
Clean Ductwork
Your indoor air is only as cleans as the ducts it passes through. While your AC unit itself may get a lot of attention and maintenance, when was the last time your ducts were cleaned? Whatever dirt, dust and debris is lurking in your ductwork will eventually be circulated throughout your house and possibly even into your lungs.
Brown’s duct-cleaning and sanitation services include Rotobrush technology, which thoroughly scrubs and vacuums your ducts to remove whatever’s been accumulating.
Then, after the debris and buildup has been cleared away, we flush your whole duct system with a sanitizing odor-ban solution fog that kills any living growth. Not only does this improve your home’s air quality, it also eliminates lingering smells.
Filtration
Once your ducts have been cleaned and sanitized, we want to make sure that only the cleanest air gets into them and thus into your home. The first step is filtration.
Brown first protects your ductwork with the APCO in-duct carbon air purifier. This top-of-the-line technology removes tiny dust and debris from the air. Even though these particles are often too small to see, they can accumulate quickly. Thorough filtration helps to keep your clean AC system clean throughout, for a longer period of time.
At the same time, an effective filtration system allows the clean air to flow readily, so that your unit remains efficient and doesn’t raise your energy bill.
Ultraviolet Purification
The latest, state-of-the-art step to superior indoor air quality is air purification. In this step, we are able to eliminate and/or neutralize actual living microbes that will otherwise circulate in your home and pose health risks. We achieve air purification through our own Maximum Air UV Light Kit.
A UV air purification light emits ultraviolet rays at a specific point in your AC’s circulation process. The air—and everything in it—is exposed to this controlled ultraviolet light. UV causes fundamental damage to all living microorganisms, either killing them or rendering them “inactive” so that they can’t reproduce.
UV light purification is effective against all manner of microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria, as well as mold and algae.
These days, when we’ve all become so aware of the devastating potential of airborne microorganisms, UV air purification is an absolute must.
